1 cup almonds, walnuts, cashews, pumpkin seeds, coconut etc
2-3tbsps melted organic, cold-pressed coconut oil or ghee. May need less for walnuts. Start with tbsp at a time to make thick paste.
1/4 cup, 20g cocoa powder or to taste
1tbsp maple syrup or 1 tbsps of xylitol- to taste
1tsp vanilla essence
Pinch of salt
For the occasional tasty, nutritious treat!
Grind nuts, seeds etc until the consistency you prefer. Can use nut butter.
Put ground nuts, seeds or coconut into a bowl, add other ingredients and stir until well mixed
Press into moulds and freeze until solid
Serve from the freezer but allow 5 mins to soften.
If you prefer milk chocolate taste, can add tbsp of double cream or coconut milk to taste.
N.B. Using pumpkin seeds with the raw cocoa, really boosts the immune system due to high zinc content.
